Notes:
In the 1950s and 60s, a number of branches extended beyond the main suburban lines. Whilst most services were steam hauled or utilised railcars or rail motors, the suburban line from Camberwell to Alamein was electrified. Utilising film shot by the late Keith Atkinson, which has been digitally transferred and restored, we can go back to the operations on these lines around 50 years ago. On cover: Stony Point steam hauled passenger trains; Healesville steam hauled goods and passenger trains; Warburton steam hauled passenger trains; Alamein Swing Door Electrics; Upper Ferntree Gully to Belgrave NG steam specials. Running time 77 minutes.
