Notes:
Includes index. Liberating Women looks at the lives of Australian women in the period 1960 to 1990. It begins by building up a picture of women's lives during the 1950s and goes on to look at the following years in greater detail. For many Australians, 'women's liberation' of the 1960s and 1970s signalled a positive change in women's working and living conditions as well as in basic assumptions about the role of women in society. By the 1990s many of the fundamental changes in relation to women's lives in the previous 30 years were taken for granted. This book highlights the advances made over this 30 year period.
