Manuscript written by a very early resident of Prahran detailing his involvement in landmark civic developments, notably (1) the siting and funding of the Church Street bridge; (2) the formation of the mechanics’ institute; (3) the granting of municipal status to the District of Prahran. Crook’s reasons for writing these recollections are explained on the first page: others are falsely claiming credit for these developments, and some accuse him of losing government funding offered to Prahran.
