Summary: |
"The Horsham Convent Building which was built by the Horsham parish for the Brigidine Sisters had stood from 1919-2009. The demolition of the Convent was completed in 2010. The decision had been made after much discussion and research by the Parish priest, Fr Peter Sherman, and parishoners, as there was extreme damage to the building caused by shifting sands and a severe drought of 12 years. ... From 1920 to 1968 the Convent had housed nuns and boarders as well as a primary and secondary shcool. From 1969 to 2009 the Convent building became known as Brigid House and was used as an administrative and school building on the campus of Ss Michael and John's Primary School."--Introd. |
