It all began in the late 1880's with the development of a substantial cable tram system, followed by the first permanent electric services in 1906. This begins with a glimpse of those early years. You will be taken on a journey through some of Melbourne's first established suburbs, travelling over four routes selected for their variation in tram types and subjects of interest along the way. Contents include: East Coburg; East Brighton; CBD; South Melbourne; Malvern depot; St Kilda Road, Fleet control; South Melbourne depot; St Kilda Beach – East Brunswick.
