This Compact Disk is of the Headstones and burial information in the Axedale and Goornong Cemeteries which are East and North of the City of Greater Bendigo. Both are now farming communities and have had mining in their history. The Axedale Cemetery was gazetted in 1866 and consists of a total of 13 acres (9 Acres Roman Catholic) situated on the Mclvor Highway, 15km'sEast of Bendigo and approx 1 km west of the Axedale township. Goornong is located on the Midland Hwy, 20 kms north of Bendigo. The cemetery is situated off the Midland Hwy, on the Goornong-Barnadown Road, set in a rural/bush setting. The photography and research of these headstones was carried out by Ian and Pat Belmont and the compilation onto Compact Disk was carried out by Tom and Libby Luke. The CD-ROM contains many individual headstones photographed and set out alphabetically with many having two or more photographs to help describe them better.
