This is the story of life in the rural community of Toodyay, about 65 kms. north-east of Perth, W.A. It starts in the 1830's and describes the forging of roads and railways into the area, the Avon river, flora and fauna, early farming practice, businesses, schools, industries, occupations, entertainment, sporting events, disasters and the effect of two world wars on a small town.
