'Dreams and Realities' is written as two books: the first presenting “a picture of the epic struggle against primitive nature. We learn about the characters’ way of life, see their boys grow up to be hunters. We follow the strenuous efforts of a strong man and his wife to overcome the difficulties of domestic establishment in a wilderness and learn how it ends.” The second book is a futuristic chapter: “we are shown what could be done by the application of co-operative method to the problems of rural settlement” and the positive consequences that this would have.
