Adopted 18 September, 2012 (Title page). The thematic environmental history assists in understanding the major themes that influenced the development of the City of Moonee Valley. It situates events, people and places within the city in a meaningful context. The history will assist in the identification and assessment of places of significance within the study area and provide a context for places for which there may be no remaining physical evidence or for places of potential historical significance. The thematic environmental history is not a complete social, cultural or political history of the study area. The thematic environmental history conforms to Heritage Victoria’s Framework of Historical Themes.
