A newly written history of the district covered by the former Shire of Ballarat from the early white settlers to the 1994 council amalgamations, released to mark the 150th anniversary of the Shire. Sections include early settlement, the birth and growth of local government and the shire's move to Wendouree. There are also features on some of the prominent families of the district and contributors to the Shire.
