The Other Dutch bring to Australia a four hundred year old culture formed from intermarriage and interactions between Europeans and Asians in the Indonesian archipelago. By the 18th Century the mestizo families, or Indos dominated the community. They devoloped a hybrid culture and language, mixing aspects of Dutch language and traditions with local languages and customs. After world war II many chose to move to Australia.
