We are very excited to announce that we have been successful in obtaining two grants from the Bendigo Bank which will allow us to carry out a much-needed redevelopment of our website. We are very grateful to the Bendigo Bank for their support in this project.
Not only will the new website have a new modern and fresh design, but it will address current accessibility and functionality issues, including compatibility with mobile devices — a function we are sure many of you will be looking forward to. The website will also help us to better showcase who we are and what we do.
We will be looking for members to assist during the testing phase of this project. If you currently use our website and are interested in volunteering to participate in user testing, please email us or contact the library on 9510 3393. This will most likely take place on a Tuesday morning in late September/early October.
It is important to note that the redevelopment does not include the online library catalogue, or member login area. This section of the website is administered by our Library Management System. While we will be able to incorporate the updated look and feel of the website to the online catalogue and member login area, the current functionality of these areas will remain the same.
Annual General Meeting - Motion
On Thursday 16 May 2019, at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), the majority of members (41 to 1) voted in favour of the motion:
"that the PMI requests that the government revokes its incorporation under the Prahran Mechanics' Institutes Act 1899 and becomes incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Reform Act 2012".
The discussion by the members in regards to the above was fruitful and constructive.
We would also like to remind you that construction on the Cato Square project continues which is impacting parking in the area. Visit www.stonnington.vic.gov.au/Development/Council-Projects/Cato-Square for more details in relation to parking in the area. The Chapel Street Precinct group have also developed an online parking map which you can visit at http://www.chapelstreetparking.com.au/.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
