A pictorial review of railway sidings and yards across the metropolitan area of Melbourne. Areas include Blackburn, Box Hill, Broadmeadows, Brooklyn, Brunswick, Coburg, Dandenong, Eltham, Glenroy, Heidelberg, Macaulay, Mitcham, Montague, Newport, North Melbourne, North Fitzroy, Oakleigh, Port Melbourne, Somerton, Spotwood, Sunshine, and Yarraville. Some of these locations had extensive sidings such as Brooklyn and Yarraville whreas others were relatively small but were still busy nevertheless. The photographs also provide an interesting contrast as to how much Melbourne has changed since the 1950s and 1960s.
