A record of the many small sail traders of 100-ton or less that were built, owned or registered in Victorian ports including Melbourne, Geelong, Port Fairy, Portland and so on. For many years these craft provided the only passenger and cargo service between Melbourne and the coastal settlements in Port Phillip Bay, coastal Victoria and the Bass Strait trade.
