Notes:
A documentary which focuses on Australia's largest urban archaeological project, an excavation in Melbourne that took place in 1987 and is now the site of Australia's biggest government office building. Before the foundations were laid, archaeologists were commissioned to 'dig' the site for evidence of urban life during 150 years of post-colonial occupation. The film is about the area around Little Lonsdale Street (Little Lon), notorious for almost a century as Melbourne's red light district.
