'The "Kookaburra", a tiny Westland Widgeon monoplane, was forced to land in the treacherous Tanami Desert of the Northern Territory, Australia. Pilot, Keith Anderson and mechanic Bob Hitchcock were attempting to rescue fellow airmen, who had been reported missing. Tragically, Anderson and Hitchcock perished from thirst, while the men for whom they were searching, were found alive.
